Dental Extraction
Eye care and treatment in India is well known for its world class international standards and latest procedures in minimal incision surgeries. Refractive surgery is gaining popularity in India and abroad, both among the public as well as among ophthalmologists. Till a few years ago only a few centers performed high volume radical keratotomy. These treatment and surgery have seen a lot of medical tourists coming to India. Medical tourism in India has got a big boost because of eye care and surgery which is well known and accepted worldwide.

Eye Care and Surgery

Cataracts and Refractive Lens Surgery
It is fully equipped with the most modern technology for performing sutureless cataract surgeries. The various surgeries performed for cataract include small incision cataract surgery, phacoemulsification with rigid or foldable IOL, No injection Cataract Surgery, as well as surgeries for complicated situations like subluxated cataract, traumatic cataract, complicated cataracts etc. Besides, a YAG Laser machine is also available for treatment of after cataracts, which can occur in some patients after cataract surgery. Cataract is the leading cause of decreased vision and blindness in our country. It can be cured by a simple cataract extraction microsurgery, which, these days is performed using advanced technology in a short time.

Corneal and External Diseases
Well trained corneal surgeons provide "cutting edge" treatment for most corneal disorders. Modern innovations in keratoplasty likeDALK and DSAEK for corneal endothelial disorders,Intacs and Corneal Collagen cross linking, are now utilized here to manage hitherto difficult disorders like Keratoconus, Pellucid Marginal Degeneration, and post-LASIK Ectasia. The refractive surgery services (for the eliminating the need for glasses) utilize a combination of incisional and top of thee line LASIK machines liked to wavefront and Pentacam analyzers to deliver optimal patient satisfaction. Advanced ocular surface disorders can now be treated with Amniotic Membrane & Stem Cell Transplantation, where our consultants have considerable expertise.

Vitreo-Retinal Diseases
The Vitreoretina is a major referral center which deals with management of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic eye diseases, retinal detachment, ARMD, infections, trauma & various other retinal disorders. A highly trained team of retinal surgeons combined with the effective use of latest diagnostic tools (FFA, ICG, Ultrasound B Scan, UBM, Optical Coherence Tomography, and Visual Electrophysiological Tests. such as ERG, multifocal ERG, EOG and VEP) get us optimal visual results. Clinical trials are underway to evaluate newer drugs and treatment options.

Uveitis & Ocular Immunology Services
The Uveitis & Ocular Immunology Service provides a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of ocular inflammatory disease and other infectious disorders. Medical experts deal with diagnosis and management of complex infectious and autoimmune diseases of the eye as well as eye diseases associated with various other systemic medical disorders. The diagnostics are backed by a well equipped laboratory, pathology and molecular diagnostic services, and the consultants are conversant with appropriate intervention techniques. In addition we have the experience with the latest treatments including the use of immunosuppressive and immunomodulation for autoimmune eye diseases.

Travelspro Healthcare co-ordinates with the other subspecialties of ophthalmology and internal medicine efficiently to get the optimal treatment outcomes for patients with complex Uveitic disorders. Another field of specialization is HIV/AIDS associated ocular infections wherein it is combined experience of having seen over a few thousand HIV/ AIDS cases with ocular complications.

Ophthalmologists are dedicated to the care and treatment of people who have glaucoma and also to the training of young ophthalmologist about diagnosis and management of glaucoma. Sophisticated, state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities include computerized visual field testing, optic nerve imaging, multiple methods of optic nerve imaging and other specialized modalities are available. In addition, they are conducting research on glaucoma to gain a better understanding of this disease.

There are several types of glaucoma, Primary or Secondary; Open angle and Angle closure; High pressure and normal Pressure etc. The treatment largely depends on properly identifying precisely which kind is present and what is the severity. One factor common to most types of glaucoma is damage to the optic nerve of the eye due to pressure inside the eye. No matter whether the pressure is high, normal, or below normal, it can still cause damage. Few situations or types of glaucoma can present as an acute condition and require immediate treatment, while others are chronic and may be present for a lifetime.

Lasik Surgery
Hyperopic and LASIK are available and even supra hard cataracts are treated using just 1 mm incision instead of the 3 mm incision size. Photo refractive keratotomy or PRK treats the surface of the cornea with the Excimer laser while LASIK treats the inner tissue of the cornea. For this reason, with LASIK there is less area to heal less risk of scarring, less risk of corneal haze, less post-operative pain.

Ocular Prosthesis & Rehabilitations Center Patients who are unfortunate enough to lose an eye to disease or trauma, the pain extends beyond the loss of the function itself. The continued suffering of a painful or disfigured eye, the social stigma, all lead to psychological setbacks for the patient.

Ocular Oncology:
Our Ocular Oncology Department deals with various tumors (cancer) of the eye and the surrounding structures. Conditions managed commonly in this department are retinoblastoma, Choroidal Melanoma, Orbital tumours, metastases and lid tumours.

We have acquired a large spot diode laser with indirect laser ophthalmoscope for delivery of transpupillary thermotherapy to retinal tumors, including retinoblastoma and choroidal melanoma.Recent innovations in treatment like Transpupillary Thermotherapy (TTT), chemotherapy, etc have enabled salvaging many eyes and lives.

Ocular Trauma
A wide range of orbital trauma can occur concomitant with orbital fractures. The ocular Sequelae of mid-facial fractures are usually considered to be edema and ecchymosis of the soft tissues, subconjunctival hemorrhage, diplopia, iritis, retinal edema, ptosis, enophthalmos, ocular muscle paresis, mechanical restriction of ocular movement and nasolacrimal disturbances. More severe injuries such as optic nerve trauma and retinal detachments have also been reported. Reported rates of intraocular injury range from 1% to nearly 70%.

The relationship, if any, between the purity of orbital fractures and their secondary ocular problems has not been elucidated to date.

Ocular Pathology
Ocular pathology is the study of the diseases of the eye and its orbit. Ocular pathology provides the foundation of understanding from which advances in ophthalmic medicine are made.

The pathology lab offers cytology, histology and immunohistochemistry services to all the speciality clinics. The tissue processing, embedding, microtomy , staining , cytologic and pathologic interpretation is done with special service in the form of photomicrography.

Ocular Genetics
Many eye diseases have a genetic component; similarly, many genetic diseases and birth defects have significant ocular pathology. Travelspro Healthcare offers a facility where patients with individually rare genetic eye diseases could obtain available clinical evaluation, prognostic assessment and management.

Sophisticated tests performed in the laboratory include those for diseases such as hereditary retinal dystrophies, retinoblastoma, anterior segment malformations, storage diseases, familial exudative vitroretinopathy, congenital cataracts, dislocated lenses, and congenital glaucoma. The Center's laboratory will soon offer clinical DNA diagnosis of some genetic eye diseases, including affection, carrier status and prenatal diagnosis.

Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus service
The Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismology Service has grown to be a major referral centre for pediatric eye disorders. Adult patients suffering from squint and double vision are also dealt with. This service is involved in diagnosis & management of an entire gamut of pediatric eye diseases including refractive errors (short sight, long sight or astigmatism), congenital cataracts, congenital glaucoma, amblyopia, squint, retinal diseases, congenital anomalies, pediatric eye cancer, oculoplasty etc. The department provides appropriate therapeutic intervention for all stages of retinopathy of prematurity, a blinding disease of the premature newborn. We also have facilities to provide vision stimulation and rehabilitation for children with low vision.

Pediatric Retina
Pediatric Retina is a nascent subspecialty in Ophthalmology world over. Truly, it is Ophthalmology’s newest ‘baby’. In the current scenario in India today, this niche specialty is evolving and only a handful of institutes have awarded it the status of a stand-alone department.

Over half of the world’s blind children live in India alone. Approximately 24% of childhood blindness in India is attributable to retinal causes. Whereas cataract and malnutrition related blindness have received the attention of both governmental and non-governmental eye-care providers, retinal causes are not a priority issue. This is despite the fact that perhaps the most devastating causes of blindness stems from retinal diseases.
The growing numbers of premature infants surviving in India today have resulted in an epidemic rise of diseases such as Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).
